Amina Mohammed: Africans need respect



Despite many of those resolutions involving Africa, none of the African members of the UN have veto powers to contribute on substantial issues within the UNSC.
Kenya is one of the countries charged with lobbying for changes within the UNSC and Ms Mohamed has already campaigned in Russia and China who are two of the five Permanent members of the UNSC with veto powers. The UK, France and the US are the other three.


The AU ministers of Foreign affairs are meeting ahead of an AU Summit in Johannesburg from Sunday which is expected to continue with the subject which they believe could save them the agony of passing some policies affecting African nations.
