Amanda's Got Talent...for shameless attention-seeking as she tries to fight off young rivals at 44: TV-star is famed for her 'look-at-me' moment
- Amanda Holden spends her time praising contestants on Britain's Got Talent but covets a little for herself too
- She's been accused of staging a stunt on Monday as she poured water over Stephen Mulhern to grab headlines
- TV star may be 44 but she's giving younger rivals a run for their money with her sumptuous and revealing outfits
- Over the last year she's grabbed her breasts, lifted her dress and even got her bottom out for a bit of attention
Amanda
Holden was said to be livid, while presenter Stephen Mulhern apparently
feared for his safety as security guards were called in to restore order
after she furiously threw glasses of water over him.
Or
so insiders on Britain’s Got Talent’s ITV2 spin-off show claimed on
Monday, after Holden was compared with U.S. socialite Jocelyn
Wildenstein, dubbed ‘the Bride of Wildenstein’ because of her extensive
plastic surgery.
Plainly,
it was all a stunt that Amanda was in on — but doesn’t that make it all
the more pitiful? She may insist she hasn’t had surgery and no longer
has Botox, but with a complexion as tight as hers not everyone believes
her.
Monday: As the BGT semi-final acts hope to make it to the final, Amanda
just wants to make it to the end of the show without falling out of her
dress. Later on Britain’s Got More Talent, she soaks host Stephen
Mulhern after he ungallantly compares her with the Bride of Wildenstein
January 21: Just like an ordinary person, Amanda likes to use public transport. Unlike ordinary people, she does it in evening dress while posing for a photo
Monday:
Amanda's motto is simple: If the split in your dress isn't revealing
your legs to millions of viewers on TV, simply pull it apart
Now,
perhaps, she’s decided that ridiculing her looks on TV is easier than
dealing with the doubters who think she’s had the odd nip and tuck.
There’s
no denying Amanda is one of our more accomplished female TV presenters.
She doesn’t set viewers’ teeth on edge in the way Tess Daly appears to
on Strictly; neither does she come across as a bloke’s woman with no
time for her own sex as Ulrika Jonsson can.
With
Amanda, it’s more a case of putting your head in your hands and
wondering what on earth possesses a 44-year-old mother-of-two to behave
like she’s the star of her own Carry On movie.

through and what appears to be a climbing plant creeping over her right
breast. Picture by Dymond / Syco / Thames / Corbis
At her age,
she will be aware women are often ruthlessly dropped by TV bosses as
they nudge towards 50, especially when younger rivals such as The
Voice’s Rita Ora and The X Factor’s Cheryl Fernandez-Versini are
snapping at her heels. But is her increasingly desperate behaviour
really the answer?
Earlier
this month, she was a guest on The Graham Norton Show alongside actress
Carey Mulligan, who discussed the challenges of performing Chekhov,
while fellow actress Noomi Rapace talked about speaking three languages.
And
Amanda? Well, she talked about her permanently erect nipples and how
they always guide her home like an in-built satellite system. Then she
lifted her gown to reveal a fake tattoo of Simon Cowell at the top of
her thigh.
She’s
also filling in for Holly Willoughby on ITV’s This Morning, where she’s
an engaging host. But, my word, the antics, the innuendo: she’s pinned
tassels to her chest and twirled them around and pretended to undress
during a cookery segment.
And
it’s not just her behaviour: Amanda’s clothes leave little to the
imagination. Justifiably proud of her yoga-honed body, there’s no part
of it she doesn’t want to put on display, even if it results in
complaints to Ofcom — as her revealing BGT dressses have done this week.
We’ll
have to wait and see what Amanda has planned for tomorrow’s final
because with ten million viewers, she won’t be able to resist the chance
to show off. Here, in all her attention-seeking glory, are Amanda’s
latest look-at-me moments . . .
April 13: 'How can I accessorise this lady-like polka-dot dress?'
wondered Amanda on ITV's This Morning. 'I know, with a pair of Union
Jack nipple tassels.'
January 21: Just like an ordinary person, Amanda likes to use public transport. Unlike ordinary people, she does it in evening dress while posing for a photo
January 6: Amanda Hold-em: ‘Do you think these are a lovely bunch of
coconuts?’ asked Amanda when she posted a suggestive snap on Instagram
from her holiday
November 24, 2014: A man in a kilt? It was never going to end well. Sure
enough, Amanda can't resist having a cheeky grope of actor James Murray
at a charity function
October 31: What do you do when you're on the red carpet and there's no
wind to blow your dress up? Why you just hoik it up yourself, of course,
and flash your pants for the people
October 20, 2014:Unable to resist the latest craze of taking a ‘belfie’
(bottom selfie) Amanda flashes her backside behind the scenes at the
This Morning studio. It’s hard to imagine Judy Finnigan doing that
